Low cost and open to many suppliers
The compact and low-cost spindle axes ELGT from Festo with integrated double guide are perfect for combining into 2D and 3D cantilever systems. Developed for applications in the electronics industry, in desktop applications and in battery manufacturing, they are open to servo motors from Festo as well as many other providers, especially those based in Asia.
The high load carrying capacity and rigidity provided by the integrated double guide and the sturdy connectors make the spindle axis ELGT ideal for high payloads and strokes of up to 1400 mm. As a 3D cantilever system, it can transport up to 20 kg at speeds of up to 0.5 m/s. With a copper and zinc content of less than 1%, the axis is a perfect fit for use in assembly systems in battery manufacturing or in small parts handling.
The spindle axis becomes even more economical when combined with the axes ELGC or the mini slide EGSC, both from Festo, as a Z-axis for vertical movements in handling systems. Compatible adapter kits for all servo motors from Festo, as well as many Asian and European motor providers, and the adapter kit for opto-electrical sensors commonly found on the market in Asia, for example from Omron, make installation easy. Position sensing is cost-effective and easy using inductive proximity sensors.
