Le Olimpiadi a Parigi sono finite - ora un'altra metropoli francese è al centro dell'attenzione: dal 10 al 15 settembre 2024 Lione ospiterà la 47° edizione dei WorldSkills, i campionati che riuniranno oltre 1.500 giovani provenienti da più di 65 paesi e regioni, in 62 competizioni. Ogni due anni dal 1950, giovani lavoratori qualificati, provenienti da tutto il mondo, gareggiano misurando le loro abilità professionali secondo gli esigenti standard dei WorldSkills. Prima di accedere, i partecipanti affrontano un processo di selezione nazionale.

In Europe, Germany's mechatronics experts are simply top: at the European Skills Championship EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 in Poland last September, Daniel Schmid and Timo Oßwald, both apprentices at Festo, won the gold medal in the skill mechatronics. They thus completed the extremely successful record of the German national team, which came second behind Switzerland in the 'Best of Nations' ranking in 42 trades.

For the first time, apprentices in the job profiles of Mechatronics and Industry 4.0 met for the German Championships of WorldSkills Germany. These took place at the Festo Lernzentrum Saar in St. Ingbert at the beginning of October. The respective winning teams will represent Germany at the upcoming vocational championships WorldSkills 2022 and EuroSkills 2023.
