Process Valve Configurator is Festo’s latest digital tool simplifying engineering, procurement

Mississauga, ON, January 2020 – With the new Festo Process Valve Configurator, process and application engineers can configure butterfly or ball valve assemblies for their application online in just minutes. Whatever the job requires, be it a manually actuated combination, a unit with a pilot valve and sensor box, or a unit with a positioner for modulating or throttling applications, the user simply enters the process and ambient conditions of their application along with the desired method of actuation. The Process Valve Configurator does the rest. It will immediately suggest appropriate combinations, making engineering faster, safer and simpler. It’s a digital pathway to quick, efficient, accurate and successful application engineering that yields a project-specific and optimized solution every time.

For each assembly configured, users are also given a unique configuration ID and downloadable 3D CAD models in various file formats. Technical documentation for each component included in the assembly is also downloadable from the Festo Support Portal. Customers can choose to place their orders after configuration is complete or submit queries to Festo in cases where further review is required.

Configured valve units ordered through the configurator are delivered fully assembled, tested and are ready to install. All components (butterfly valves, quarter-turn actuators, pilot valves, sensor boxes, positioners, adapter kits and hand levers) are accurately selected in accordance with the process and ambient conditions entered in the configurator.

The Process Valve Configurator is the latest digital tool from Festo supporting its customers’ entry into the world of Industry 4.0. Like the Handling Guide Online for designing electric handling systems and the Festo Automation Suite fast commissioning software, Festo’s new valve configurator is shortening the time, effort and cost of design, ordering, parameterizing and commissioning factory and process automation solutions.
