Bioprocesses are becoming increasingly important for industry, as they represent sustainable alternatives to conventional production processes and enable the manufacture of new products. With BioTech Automation, Festo is presenting an overview of already available components and solutions at Analytica based on selected cultivation processes, which will be demonstrated in three bioreactors: a loop bioreactor, a stainless steel reactor and a benchtop laboratory reactor.

Compact, custom distribution plates for precise fluid control: Diffusion bonded manifolds enable tailored, contamination-free fluidic solutions through an adhesive-free joining process. The technology complements existing standard components and is aimed especially at applications in medical technology, diagnostics, laboratory automation and food analysis. 

Innovative guide technology, high rigidity and guide load capacity for more load in the same installation space - these are the features of the new ELGD axis family from Festo. In addition, powerful drive elements offer high feed forces and accelerations for shorter cycle times and a long service life. A stainless steel cover strip is friction-free on the outside and does not allow any particles to form there. This makes the drives in the axis family ideal for use in cleanrooms.

Festo is now making it even easier for its users: the proven advantages and all the useful functions of the classic valve terminals CPV, MPA-L/S and VTUG are now available under the umbrella of the convertible valve terminal VTUX. In addition, the AP-I and AP-A communication system creates the ideal platform for digitalized production. This provides flexibility, enables open architectures and the seamless integration of electrical and pneumatic automation.
