Precise and economical
For simple positioning tasks at an excellent price/performance ratio, there is now the electric cylinder EPCC from Festo. The high-quality ball screw drive with low internal friction for short positioning times ensures a high dynamic response.
The electric cylinder EPCC from Festo is available in four sizes with a non-rotating piston rod, a stroke of up to 500 mm and a plain bearing guide. The compact ball screw drive ensures quiet spindle operation and precise positioning, with life-time lubrication for a long service life. The integrated coupling and double bearing make for a compact design. The integrated end-position cushioning reduces noise when approaching the end positions, as well as impact energy during homing.
Universal mounting
Users can choose between an axial or parallel motor position, and can switch between the two at any time. The electric cylinder EPCC with the linear axis ELGC is easy to mount thanks to the universal profile mounting in accordance with the "one size down" assembly principle and does not require additional adapters. Handling systems in particular benefit from the weight-optimised design of the EPCC.
There is an option to subsequently duct the pressure compensation air using fittings and tubing. Ducted pressure compensation air offers major advantages because ambient particles or moisture are not sucked into the electric cylinder and no particles are emitted from the drive into the ambient air.
Seamless connectivity
The electric cylinder EPCC is an important part of the Festo philosophy of seamless connectivity, i.e. the ability to connect a workpiece completely through to the cloud, from its mechanical connections and electrical interfaces to commissioning and controller programming. This simplifies the work of every machine builder and automation engineer when it comes to connecting the mechanical and electric technology, as well as the control levels and their interfaces with the hardware and software.
